Testing and Service Technician

**About Us**:
AMVT LLC, based in Katy, Texas, specializes in the sales, marketing, and customer support of advanced optical sorting and food inspection equipment. Our products are essential in industries such as food processing and packaging, including optical sorters (RGB, Infra-red, and X-ray), metal detectors, checkweighers, and more. We are looking for a dedicated Testing and Service Technician to join our team and support customers across Eastern Canada.
**Position Overview**:
The Testing and Service Technician will play a key role in delivering top-notch service to our customers. You will conduct on-site machine demos, installations, troubleshooting, and training, while also providing technical support remotely. This is a full-time, field-based role that requires frequent travel across Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritime Provinces.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Customer Sample Testing**: Conduct in-lab tests on customer samples, analyze results, and provide detailed evaluations.
- **On-Site Demos & Installations**: Perform installations, demonstrations, and customer training for optical sorters and other machines.
- **Troubleshooting & Support**: Provide remote troubleshooting and technical assistance via phone and online channels.
- **Trade Show Representation**: Assist in organizing and attending trade shows, ensuring our products are well-represented.
- **Logistics Management**: Handle shipments of machine parts, samples, and equipment for customers and events.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of service actions, installations, and customer interactions.
**Qualifications**:
- **Bilingual**: Fluent in both English and French (written and spoken).
- **Experience**: Prior experience with optical sorters or food/agricultural machinery installation and service is preferred.
- **Education**: A degree or technical certification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- **Skills**: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- **Travel**: Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the designated territories.
