**MUST be available **on **weekends and holidays ( we are open 365 days a year)**

**Must have strong kitchen experience**

As a leading breakfast and brunch restaurant, we're always looking to hire exceptional people. Restaurant, **Breakfast experience is a must **. More important though, is a willingness to work hard. Very fast paste environment. Must be willing to work Saturdays and Sundays and Holidays.

Kitchen/ Breakfast experience is important, Food Safe Level One is a Must

Prep chef or kitchen assistant, plays a crucial role in a restaurant or food service establishment by assisting the kitchen team in preparing ingredients and maintaining a well-organized and efficient kitchen environment. Typically includes the following responsibilities:

- **Ingredient Preparation**: The primary responsibility of a prep cook is to assist in preparing ingredients for various dishes. This involves washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, fruits, and other food items according to the specifications outlined by the head chef or kitchen manager.
- **Measuring and Portioning**:Accurately measure and portion ingredients for recipes. This ensures consistency in the final dishes and minimizes waste.
- **Stock Management**: Assist in maintaining inventory by keeping track of ingredient levels, restocking supplies, and notifying higher-ups when certain items are running low.
- **Recipe Execution**:Follow recipes provided by the kitchen team to ensure that all components are prepared correctly and consistently. Also need to assist with basic cooking tasks such as, blanching vegetables, or preparing sauces and soups.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Part of the job involves cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment such as knives, cutting boards, and other utensils. Ensuring that equipment is properly cleaned and organized helps maintain a safe and efficient kitchen environment.
- **Organization**: Keeping the kitchen area clean, organized, and free from clutter is vital for smooth operations. Help to keep workstations tidy and follow proper sanitation and food safety practices.
- **Adherence to Food Safety Standards**: Following proper food safety guidelines, including washing hands, wearing appropriate protective gear, and preventing cross-contamination, is a crucial aspect of the job to ensure the safety of the customers.
- **Time Management**: Working under tight schedules, especially during peak hours, managing time efficiently to ensure that ingredients are ready for use when needed.
- **Adaptability**: Depending on the kitchen's needs, prep cooks might be required to work on different tasks and adapt to changing menus or recipes.

Overall, a prep cook's role is essential for setting the stage for a successful dining experience by ensuring that ingredients are prepared accurately and efficiently, contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen.
