**About the role**
**We’re looking for an Underwriter to join our Multinational team**
As an Underwriter in our Specialty Solutions Multinational department, you will play an important role coordinating & facilitating the placement of business through the Global Network in more than 170 countries around the world. You will support several Intact Specialty Solutions teams and they will count on you to effectively communicate with our Global Network partners and provide clear guidance on the local coverage to be issued in their respective countries. In this role, you will assess coverage requirements and premium adequacy, review local tariffs, taxes and insurance requirements, and issue policies in accordance with established guidelines.
**What you’ll do here**:
- Analyze requests for quotes, renewals, and policy changes, and recommend solutions
- Develop business opportunities by fostering new relationships and maintaining strong internal and external business partner relationships
- Participate in broker visits, insurance industry functions, conferences, and marketing events
- Communicate changes related to product pricing, underwriting guidelines and new products
- Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company
- Handle referrals to the Global Network head office
- Provide ongoing support in expanding the department, and make recommendations for process improvements
- Complete special projects as assigned by the Manager of Multinational
- Support team members within Specialty Solutions as well as with other divisions at Intact
**What you bring to the table**:
- University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive underwriting experience in commercial Property & Casualty or Specialty Solutions, experience with US & International placements is preferred
- Strong knowledge in Excel is an asset
- Analytical, self-motivated and strive to deliver at a high standard
- Initiative and ability to work under pressure
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
- Strong team player, with outstanding collaboration, analytical and communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with national departmental teams
- CIP, ACIP, or FCIP designation or working towards it
- Bilingual (English & French) not required, but considered an asset
