**Laboratory Analyst -**
**HRMS Instrumentation Lab**

**(Full-time)**

**As a Laboratory Analyst, your main responsibilities are to**:

- To perform analyses using GC/MS instrumentation and interpretation of the associated data and ensure all work is defensible.
- Perform analyses on samples and interpret data for GC/MS methods using a combination of Chemstation and Microsoft Excel for various SVOC testing.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
- Adhere to Bureau Veritas’ Code of Ethics Policy as well as Bureau Veritas’ Quality system and Health and Safety programs.
- Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations
- Ensure that quality control criteria are met and generated data is defensible.
- Ensure control charts are updated as per QA/QC manual requirements.
- Prepare calibration standards, spiking solutions, recovery standards etc. from neat stock solutions.
- Prepare and analyze dilutions as required to meet SOP method criteria.
- Post final data to LIMS and approve data generated (Level I validation) for which the Analyst has been trained and validated.
- If required, perform Level II validation of data.
- Understand and troubleshoot analyses when QA criteria not met.
- Provide input to corrective action procedures.
- Ensure that deadlines/turn-around time (TATs) are met.
- Use summary reports to plan and organize work.
- Communicate any issues affecting turn-around time (TAT), quality etc. with Supervisor in a timely fashion.
- Recommend SOP revisions, help develop work instructions, and provide input to corrective action procedures.
- Participate in internal/external audits.
- Perform temperature monitoring, syringe validation, existing method development and validation studies.
- Ensure that instruments and equipment are appropriately maintained and logbooks are current and accurate.
- Perform instrument and method troubleshooting as required.
- Be proactive in ensuring that consumable supplies are available in the lab.
- Recommend ideas for and participate in Continuous Improvement projects to increase production efficiencies.
- Identify and communicate non-conformances to Team Lead and Supervisor.
- Keep work area clean, neat and organized.
- Ensure all required reading is completed in a timely fashion and the documentation of training in Compliant Pro is kept current.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.

**You are the ideal Laboratory Analyst, if you have a**:

- Post-secondary education in Science or an equivalent combination of education and instrumentation experience with a minimum of four years’ experience in a related area of testing.
- Must have four years’ experience working with GC-MS and troubleshooting skills.
- Flexible to perform varying duties to accommodate changing priorities.
- Good time-management, written and oral communication and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail oriented with accurate record keeping skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to accurately follow Standard operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions
- Energetic and motivated with a positive outlook.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment

**The shift for this position will be Sunday to Thursday.**

**Sunday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. & weekdays: 12 noon to 8:30 p.m.**
