**What you'll do as a Maintenance Supervisor**:

- Lead mechanical maintenance personnel in day-to-day activities to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment.
- Investigate, analyze and resolve any maintenance related issues and report findings to the Manager of Maintenance, as necessary.
- Effective use of time, resources, and manpower to minimize downtime for repairs.
- Effective planning and maintenance of preventative maintenance program.
- Looking for opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and equipment.
- Training and development of hourly mechanical staff.
- Performance management and discipline in collaboration with the maintenance manager and HR for hourly maintenance staff as required.
- Responsible for approving time sheets for hourly mechanical personnel; ensure timesheets are accurate and communicate with HR/payroll department for any exceptions or inquiries.
- Ensure employees receive proper instruction and training for the task at hand.
- Ensure compliance with company policies.
- Demonstrate and promote a safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety policies and appropriate PPE is worn by all maintenance staff.
- Report incidents and near misses according to reporting procedure.
- Work in collaboration with various departments including, shipping, mill operations, upper management, and contractors to ensure departmental goals are being met
- Mentor existing apprentice(s), ensuring proper understanding and techniques are used when repairing equipment

**Qualifications**:

- 5+ Years' experience supervising or managing a team with in a Maintenance department.
- Post-Secondary Education in manufacturing or related discipline
- 433A Millwright ticket or trade equivalent an asset
- Experience in the manufacturing/steel industry an asset
- Experience with ISO9001 & IATF 16949 quality systems
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints
- Mechanical aptitude/ability
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Collaborative spirit and initiative

- Effective communicator
- Fluent in both written and verbal English

**Work Environment**:

- Exposure to weather dependent temperatures and dusty conditions - Hot working conditions/Cold working conditions
- Constant awareness of hazards in the workplace (i.e Crane Movement).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
