**Position Overview**
Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Programs and Partnerships, the Project Coordinator, Anti-Hate will collaborate internally and externally with community partners to support the development of a local anti-hate public awareness campaign and the development of an online resource portal. The resource portal will offer Londoners information on anti-hate resources including how to report an act of hate, bystander training information, local anti-hate events, community resources and supports that can help following an act of hate.

In keeping with the City’s commitment to eradicate hate, racism and oppression in our community, the Project Coordinator, Anti-Hate has a good understanding of the history, institutions, policies, and culture that have shaped and impacted the lives and experiences of marginalized individuals and groups and will work collaboratively to support the development of a steering committee of local partner organizations to help advise and inform deliverables.

The City of London was a successful applicant with the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism to complete a two-year pilot project. This position will support the implementation of this pilot project. This is a two-year temporary position with a focus on developing a public awareness campaign and the development of an online resource portal.

**Areas of Focus** Relationship Building**
- Works to build trust and strengthen the City's relationship with diverse people and other racialized people, communities, and representative organizations.
- Collaborates with equity-denied communities including those that serve the Black, Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+ and faith-based groups and organizations, community leaders, service providers, community agencies, City staff, Provincial partners, and other community groups in delivering the project plan.
- Organizes, and supports the Anti-Hate Steering Committee with organizations and members of the community to create an online resource portal to share how to report an act of hate, bystander training information, local anti-hate events, community resources and supports that can help following an act of hate.

**Resource to the Corporation**
- Communicates with and provides advice to internal staff to develop, inform and advise of anti-hate initiatives and project milestones and to receive input and guidance from them.
- Sources vendors to collaboratively work with and deliver on the local anti-hate public awareness campaign and online resource portal.
- Contributes to the development of a culture of safety within the City of London by modelling behaviours that reflect understanding of related policies and procedures.
- Navigates different viewpoints that require consensus to proceed while using the Anti Racism Anti Oppression Framework and Equity Tool and Community Engagement Policy.
- Connects with other municipalities to gather information, learn what others have done and promote London’s reputation as a leader when addressing hate.
- Assists with the preparation of staff reports to Council and the Senior Leadership Team on issues related to Anti-Hate and the implementation of the public awareness campaign and online resource portal.

**Qualifications and Lived Experience**
- University degree or college diploma in a relevant area of study or equivalent combination of education and related professional and community experience.
- Demonstrated experience supporting projects is required.
- Lived experience as a marginalized person who can acknowledge and speak to the social, political, cultural, spiritual, health and economic history, challenges, and opportunities relevant to diverse people and communities is an asset.
- Experience in supporting the implementation of strategic anti-oppression, equity and inclusion initiatives, and programs for an organization in the public, private, or not for profit sector, including group process and meeting facilitation experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with community partners, the not-for-profit sector, social organizations, community groups, businesses, education, and health care.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of related legislation including the Ontario Human Rights Code, and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

**Additional skills and abilities**:

- Demonstrated ability to engage in meaningful, trust-based relationships with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated understanding of the intersectionality of various forms of power, privilege and oppression in the workplace and society.
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural values and norms of various communities, particularly Muslim, Black and Indigenous communities and people, women, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomers and other equity-denied communities.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the various social and economic issues that impact the lived experience of residents.
- Excellent communication and writing skills. Ability to prepare
