**Location**: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton

**Hours of Work**: 35 hours per week
- The Region of Peel recently formed the Office of Climate Change and Energy Management (OCCEM) to build upon the climate change and energy management initiatives happening across Peel and to integrate the work towards achieving outcomes. The OCCEM, located within the Region of Peel’s Corporate Services Department, has the lead role in ensuring the Region of Peel is positioned to adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change._

Reporting to the Manager, Climate Change and Energy Management you will work cohesively with a team of Advisors as well as external contractors and consultants to achieve the implementation of innovative climate change and energy management initiatives. You will coordinate with clients and vendors and provide logistic oversight essential to project success. You will play a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of climate change and energy initiatives and provide professional support in the areas of initiative management and communications.

**What you will do in this role**:

- Provide day to day support and coordination to CCEM Advisors and the Manager on climate change and energy management initiatives
- Research to support Advisors and the Manager in the implementation of energy and climate change initiatives and strategies Prepare, research and review relevant documentation and legislation
- Draft reports and presentations for Advisors and the Manager
- Facilitate meetings with teams and stakeholders
- Provide detailed management and reporting of communication plans for various initiatives
- Offer recommendations on trends, risks and opportunities in the highly specialized area of climate change and energy management
- Undertake significant research and in-depth investigation of climate risks for all Regional facilities to assist in identifying opportunities for climate change adaptation
- Carry out pre and post reporting and analysis of Regional facilities to identify whether climate change mitigation and adaptation initiatives meet expected savings targets
- Work closely with client programs in order to learn and understand the client program, processes and facility operations
- Professionally address client and public enquiries regarding climate change and energy management
- Monitor and report on capital expenditures
- Provide expert interpretation and advice on relevant energy legislation and regulations
- Oversee consultants and vendors in the delivery of cost effective services and operations

**What the role requires**:

- A university degree or a specialized college diploma in a related technical discipline, or in another relevant discipline such as environmental studies, project management or purchasing with at least 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of contract administration and project development
- General understanding of design and construction standards
- General knowledge of climate change and energy management

**Nice to have**:

- Knowledge of funding and incentive from Provincial and Federal Governments for energy management and climate change projectswould be considered an asset
- Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques and tools would be considered an asset
