Production Supervisor

**Summary/Objective**: To collaborate within a team environment, with a focus on change management, safety, quality, and efficient production.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Ensure schedule is achieved and product is produced on time
- Ensure labor resources are closely managed for effective and cost efficient operation
- Manage all aspects of individual and team performance (i.e. compliance, attendance, productivity)
- Oversee and schedule individual training
- Completes and records in-process checks at required intervals, including but not limited to:
- Weights
- Quality Specifications
- First Article/Last off
- Obtain team acknowledgement sign off of Quality alerts and other required procedures
- React to and escalate out of specification incidents
- Verify operator’s real time scrap reporting
- Demonstrates traits & inclinations that characterize successful leaders :Engages people, Drives toward success, Sustains positive outlook, Shows discipline, Inspires confidence
- Participates in safety incident investigations & leads investigations on night/off shifts
- Leads Process teams to drive cycle and scrap to standard; engages technical support on processing issues
- Ensures Operations are performing to meet the standardized work instructions
- Takes every precaution reasonable for the protection of employees included but not limited to ensuring all are provided with and wear any equipment, protective device or clothing required and advise employees of any potential or actual health or safety dangers known
- Completes all other duties as assigned
**Required Skills and Experience**:
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience manufacturing environment required; ideally in a unionized setting
- Must have strong leadership skills to coach, develop, train, motivate and manage performance of up to 60 hourly staff;
- Effective verbal and written communication skills;
- Mechanical aptitude and analytical ability;
- Demonstrated ability to exercise critical thinking and good judgement;
- Proven proficiency in prioritizing, multi-tasking, and consistently meeting deadlines;
- Good computer and Microsoft Office skills necessary;
- Experience with Lean manufacturing development and execution is desirable;
- Post-secondary diploma or degree or equivalent experience

**Work Environment**:This job operates in a production manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard production equipment.
**Physical Demands**:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, use hands, handle tools, objects or controls; reach, climb stairs, talk and listen; may lift or move products up to 50 lbs.
**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work**:Production hours are 7 x 24, so any combination of hours may be required. Currently working 12 hour continental shifts.
