Reporting to the Program Manager, Service System Planning and Policy Development and directly to the Senior Digital Content Advisor, you will be a part of a team that provides divisional oversight, coordination and direction related to the creation and presentation of digital content across a variety of channels, while championing user needs. The Web Content Coordinator will work with professional and technical teams providing a wide range of creative services in support of divisional strategic objectives.

**Responsibilities**
- Writes and edits creative copy for a variety of interactive media including the internet, intranet, social media, multimedia presentations, and other promotional tools.
- Ensures that content within the division's internet and intranet sites are integrated, accurate and current. Provides evaluation and analysis of web use statistics and client feedback.
- Contributes to and applies web content, design, usability and accessibility standards and policies to promote consistency, a positive user experience and a strong and unified City of Toronto brand. Supports print and video design, editing, and publication as required to ensure alignment with digital communication channels
- Consults with business units and provides support to project teams to determine business unit information and web based service to identify solutions to meet business requirements.
- Develops, redesigns, and improves workflows, methodologies and processes for maintenance and development of quality information and content.
- Plans, executes and documents user interviews and usability tests.
- Creates and presents user personas, user experience scenarios and test cases.
- Develops, documents, implements and monitors adherence to web development and information management standards including style guides, metadata standards, taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and other classifications systems for navigation or other categorization needs.
- Assists with the maintenance and development of content libraries consisting of information and design assets in the form of text, photography, graphics, video and audio.
- Ensures that content providers are trained in writing for the Web by setting standards. Develops, delivers and evaluates training programs and materials.
- Assists in the development of marketing and communications strategies, including coordinated work plans and editorial schedules across multiple channels, including social media.
- Provides expertise in the development and support of new web based products and services as the division's information needs evolve. Collaborates with divisional partners to review, develop and consult on web pages and other digital content, ensuring content and messaging is clear, action-oriented, user-centric and service-focused.
- Ensures that legal and legislated standards are upheld (e.g. the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Trade-marks Act and the Copyright Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act).

- Post-secondary education in Media Studies, Media Foundations, Media Communications, Media & Communications, Communications and Media Fundamentals, Media Convergence, New Media Studies, Journalism or Communications or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in information management, including privacy and security of data/records (i.e.. CIMS, ImageLibrary).

- Well-developed interpersonal skills: proven ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels; exceptional technical, verbal and written communications skills and ability to establish and maintain a good consulting relationship with stakeholders and vendors.
- Ability to show initiative and self-direction, maintain currency of knowledge, identify and solve problems that require investigation and creativity, and respond flexibly and productively to multiple and changing priorities in a results oriented team environment.
- Familiarity with metadata standards (i.e. Dublin Core).
- Knowledge working with Web browsers across multiple platforms, navigational issues and the constraints involved in designing for online media.
- Knowledge in formal and informal usability testing, user research and heuristic analysis, user scenario writing, documentation, test design and Quality Assurance scripting and translating user research into design decisions.
