**Job Summary**

**What is the opportunity?**

The Network Management unit is responsible for managing and performing oversight on the agent bank partnerships that make up the RBC Investor Services (RBCIS) agent bank network and supports the Global Custody (“custody’) services within RBC Investor Services (“RBCIS”).

The purpose of the role is to initiate and support the overall Client Operations strategy, direction and profitability for Custody & Network Management within RBCIS in alignment with core services’ strategic objectives.

The Associate Director, Network Risk Management & Control will have a specific role in contributing to a defined part of the RBCIS Network Management function, working with the Head of Risk Management & Control and the Regional Heads of Network to support best practices and the development of the core custody product initiatives and core controls, interaction with clients on market changes and intelligence and how this impacts client strategy.

**What will you do?**
- Support dedicated Governance framework to ensure appropriate tracking of all key decisions and approvals.
- Responsible for ensuring change within their area of responsibility remaining aligned to existing regulation and internal RBC policies and strategies.
- Ensure effective delivery and support of regulatory reporting.
- Act as key point of contact for Network Management in respect of issue oversight, risks and delivering resolution and management on audit and compliance items.
- Understanding the Global Regulatory framework, Financial Market Infrastructure and ‘real world’ operational flows.
- In partnership with Network Managers ensure oversight, monitoring and risk analysis of ongoing agent bank relationships obligations are met.
- Work in partnership with Client Market Account Opening (CMAO) team to ensure that regulatory requirements for external Accounts with agent bank relationships are met.
- Ensuring appropriate maintenance of policies and controls in line with various governance and compliance requirements.
- Provide support in conducting analysis and data collation of agent bank related Cost of Income.
- In partnership with Network Management related Head/s participate in industry working groups, where applicable
- In partnership with Network Management related Head/s, contribute towards Network Management related projects.
- Support of Global Market Information (GMI) responsibilities including Market News impact assessment and timely dissemination of consultative Information to clients.
- Provide support to Network Managers in the analysis of Continuous Risk Assessment (CRA) assessments including On Site Due Diligence visits and associated reporting as may be required
- Provide back up to the Network Managers on allocated markets, supporting the management of operational escalations.

**What do you need to succeed?**

**Must-have**
- 6+ years of experience in related field.
- Extensive experience in industry, preferably with a custodian.
- Sound technical knowledge of the financial services and asset management industry, with strong experience in taking market network impacts into product strategies.
- Negotiation and relationship management experience.
- Highly organized, self-motivated and entrepreneurial with drive to deliver market impact changes to meet client experience and profitability objectives.

**Nice to have**:

- MBA, post-graduate in business or finance would be a plus.
- Professional qualifications from a recognized industry body preferred.
