Job Summary:
Our client, Eden Valley Poultry (EVP), is a Canadian company that is owned by the producers who supply the best quality chickens and turkeys from their family farms and a major poultry processor. EVP takes pride in bringing high quality, wholesome, fresh poultry products to their customers.

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the development of a purchasing strategy. This includes coordinating with each department to secure timely, accurate and cost-effective purchasing of supplies and materials. Further aspects of the role include studying the market to identify price trends and future availability of materials and goods; locating vendors; negotiating prices; preparing requisitions and purchase orders; and maintaining purchase records. As well as managing other professionals in the supply chain and procurement area of the business and will work as part of a wider team.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Responsible for partnerships with reliable vendors.

2. Audit invoices to ensure compliance with contracts.

3. Maintain vendor compliance documentation for quality assurance and/or insurance.

4. Process new vendor requests, lead times and pricing items in ERP system

5. Forecasts required purchase quantities based on inventory on hand, lead time, and expected consumption.

6.Determine minimum and maximum inventory levels for all inventory and consumables.

7. Schedule and track purchase deliveries, ensuring timely and smooth delivery.

8. Create purchase requisitions, obtain approval prior to placing supply orders and review outstanding purchase orders to ensure validity.

9. Monitor the quality of purchasing items.

10. Ensure internal purchasing authorization policies are being followed.

11. Process all required paperwork (i.e bill of material worksheet) and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.

12. Compile data to generate weekly, monthly reports to be used for cost-saving initiatives.

13. Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and/or hazardous materials.

14. Ensure proper SDS documentation obtained for all items ordered.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum five years of experience required, including a minimum of two years in a leadership role;
- Working experience in purchasing or inventory controls required;
- Working knowledge of food regulatory standards;
- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations;
- Team-player with excellent leadership skills, able to motivate others, negotiate effectively, and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders;
- Knowledge of process improvement tools;
- Intermediate Computer Skills (e.g., MS Office);
- Undergraduate degree in related field or equivalent experience required;
- Supply Chain Management Certification is preferred.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
