Research Assistants are normally students, in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research. Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.

**Position Overview**:
The research assistant will complete a thorough literature review, which will involve learning about relevant topics in representation theory and algebraic combinatorics. Some programming in Maple and Python may be helpful to complete the work, but programming experience is not a requirement for this position. The research assistant will formulate conjectures and prove new results. A final report will be written in LaTeX.

**Duties**:

- Complete a thorough literature review of relevant topics in representation theory and algebraic combinatorics.
- Formulate conjectures and prove new results.
- Produce a final report written in LaTeX.

**Qualifications**:

- Must have completed three years of a mathematics degree with an excellent GPA.
- Must have completed MATH-3202: Group Theory.

**Condition(s) of Employment**:

- **Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.**

The period of work will be from **May 13, 2024 - August 2, 2024 **and the estimated total hours of work will be **0-420 hours**.
