The Community Educator / Program Administrative Support position is responsible for community and agency education on: Sexual Health & STBBI, HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, Gender and Sexual Diversity and Safer Substance Use and administrative support for the team. Community and agency education consists of formal presentations, community engagements, awareness events, and informal conversations with clients, coworkers, and public. Program administrative support consists of a wide range of administrative and support activities to ensure effective and efficient operations of the organization including overseeing and managing all office procedures, administrative support to all other programs, and other tasks as assigned by the Area Director.

**Community Educator Duties and Responsibilities**
- Engage with community members regarding possible educational opportunities.
- Create and present educational resources, based in research, to community groups in an approachable and professional manner;Create appropriate presentations tailored to audience.
- Provide evaluation surveys following education sessions to gather feedback on programming.
- Follow-up with community partners routinely to offer training for new staff.
- Help with community engagements, planning, awareness events, and committee work when appropriate.
- Research practices for continuous professional development relevant to position and organizational mission.
- Use non-judgmental approach when engaging with clients and community.
- Document all necessary information for reporting requirements.
- Prepare harm reduction supplies for distribution to clients and community partners.
- Provide support for other Northreach staff, as necessary.

**Program Administrative Support Duties and Responsibilities**
- Answering, forwarding and screening incoming calls in a professional manner, and routing calls as necessary to appropriate team member or program.
- General front desk reception, greeting clients and navigating them to correct programs offered by the organization and handing out supplies requested.
- Filing and organizing client files and office documents for the specific programs offered by the organization.
- Recording information as needed or requested (meeting minutes, inventory lists, etc.).
- Updating paperwork and maintaining documents.
- Word processing, general copying and faxing.
- Creating and entering information into agreed upon databases in program specific files.
- Maintaining office equipment as needed.
- Ordering and maintaining trauma informed and office supplies (including doing inventory).
- Completing daily office tasks as assigned by the Area Manager
- Working with the Overdose Prevention Nurse to schedule testing for clients.
- Creating visual infographics and office signage as needed.
- General office cleaning.

**Qualifications and competencies include**:

- Completion of post-secondary school or currently enrolled in social work, social services, or other relevant field.
- Experience in teaching/facilitation of small and large groups.
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, Syphilis, and other STBBI.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Professional, organized and detail orientated.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Time Management and Problem Solving Skills.
- Adaptability.
- Cultural Sensitivity.
- Resourceful.
- Teamwork.
- Class 5 Driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.

**Working conditions**

**Salary**: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
