**Position description**:
The LTA in sociological theories and methods requires expertise in both classical sociological theory and sociological research methods. Regarding theory, the LTA is expected to teach foundational 19th
- and 20th-century sociological works in ways that both respect and expand the discipline’s European origins. Regarding methods, the LTA is required to teach techniques of quantitative and qualitative methods including defining a research problem, gathering data, and interpreting findings.
