Braam’s needs a Purchaser, who will also manage inventory levels, to join our team. This is a full-time permanent position.

Braam's Custom Cabinets is seeking a full-time Purchaser/Inventory Coordinator to join our team in St. Thomas, ON. This position will be responsible for managing inventory, reporting inventory levels, and working with our vendors to ensure that we have the correct inventory at the right time.

**Purchasing**

**As a Purchaser, you are**:

- Responsible for working with all departments to maintain the ERP system.
- Responsible for procuring materials and components in a timely manner to ensure delivery prior to scheduled production dates.
- Responsible for managing supply levels based on immediate demand, forecast quantities and material lead times. Order supplies in an efficient manner. Must consider cost, availability and quality when ordering.
- Continually examine ways and processes to save Braam’s money through negotiations with suppliers.
- Daily responsibilities include entering and issuing purchase orders to vendors and communicating with suppliers to manage on-time delivery of orders.
- Work directly with Braam’s multiple departments (Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Customer Service, Receiving, Administration, Accounting and Management) to ensure continuous and accurate flow of information with respect to change orders and other adjustments to jobs on the plant floor.
- Research and evaluate current suppliers, keep the supplier’s contact information current and establish a library of alternate suppliers.
- Manage ERP purchase requisition and related modules to ensure workflow is carried out in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor factors that may affect the supply chain and the timely acquisition of materials and keep all departments and managers informed.
- Generate a variety of reports requested by Management.
- Perform additional assignments at the discretion of the Management Team.

**Inventory Control**
- Part of your function will be to ensure inventory items are accurately received, stocked, stored and recorded according to established procedures. You will:

- Develop and monitor a process that will accurately track incoming inventory, the storage and the removal and distribution of items required for specific jobs.
- Maintain and update required inventory levels for all materials required in the shop, administrative offices and sales outlets.
- Oversee quality and quantity checks on stored inventory to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Enter inventory items promptly and accurately.
- Process and document returned items using the ERP system.
- Monitor inventory losses and work with management to implement loss-prevention programs.
- Prepare relevant reports for Management.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Post-secondary diploma and/or degree
- SCMP, C.P.P. or CPIM designation, or equivalent work experience is an asset
- Work experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
- Experience with ERP systems and experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
- Wood types and substrates, veneers and other building materials industry experience an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to convey information effectively in written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook). Knowledge of warehouse management software or ability to learn will be a plus.
