Production Supervisor

Based at our Chilliwack location, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of Production and Shipping (inbound and outbound) at the Plant. This role will supervise, coordinate and liaise with all functions of the Plant. The Production Supervisor is accountable for providing leadership to production employees including providing clear direction on work assigned, management of production workflow & processes, ensuring employees are trained, signing off on their various duties and communicating with the logistics team to ensure timely loading/unloading of transport units.
This position is a full-time, permanent opportunity. Our Chilliwack plant is located at 44370 Simpson Road, near South Sumas.
Annual base salary range $60,000 - $70,000.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Directly supervise production processes with respect to all dimensions of plant success including safety, service, quality, cost and environment.
- Ensure SOPs are followed by production team and that product quality/specifications meet requirements.
- Assist in developing and enforcing quality specifications/targets.
- Work closely with all business functions to ensure operational goals are met.
- Support Manager to conduct effective meetings (DDS/WDS/Monthly H&S) and ensure they are conducted as per schedule.
- Actively solve problems involving workflow, utilization of personnel, personnel skills, systems and facility to ensure a safe, efficient and expedient production process.
- Manage plant and employee performance to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Provide coverage for RNL Manager responsibilities during absences.
- Monitor labor requirements to ensure effective utilization and meeting of production targets.
- Assist Manager with major budget expenditures and submission of requisitions for day-to-day purchasing requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external transport companies, customers and vendors to ensure smooth flow of raw materials and finished goods.
- Monitor, maintain and continue to develop all Safety Policies and Programs.
- Conduct site inspections/investigations, checking for and addressing hazards that may put workers at risk.
- Inspect equipment for breaks or maintenance issues and other tools/equipment for defects.
- Support the maintenance of company programs and policies for adherence to local, provincial and federal environmental regulations.
- Manage programs related to environmental standards held by the Company.
- Inspect RNL facility and operational work areas to ensure SOPs and other standards are in compliance with environmental programs.
- Provide recommendations on operational or procedural improvements related to environmental standards.
- Acts in liaison between management and the production workforce to keep Plant Manager informed; maintaining highest possible level of employer-employee relationship.
- Supervises and trains supervisory personnel by directing their activities, and through them the activities of the entire Production Department.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring and training of the necessary workforce to staff the plant to the forecasted level of operation.
- People development and active performance management of department staff in conjunction with the Manager.
- Perform shift work based on company business needs which evolve and change in response to customer demands. This may include shift work across multiple shifts including weekends.
- Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all RNL and WCRL policies.
- Foster a positive team and company culture by ensuring treatment of others is respectful and aligned with company values.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Requirement of a minimum of 5 years leadership experience in an industrial processing environment, or similar industry.
- Must have a Class 5 License.
- Educational background in chemistry, sciences or agriculture a significant asset.
- Possession of valid trades tickets or power engineer certifications is advantageous.
- Ability to understand and adapt to constantly changing variables in the production process and make appropriate modifications to procedures or systems.
- Possess extensive knowledge of production processes and operating efficiencies.
- Ability to lead and communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance.
