In a fast-paced environment, the Manager, Accounting is responsible for effective management of the corporate accounting team. Manager, Accounting oversees accounting and financial reporting; efficiently coordinates all financial, accounting and business related aspects of the operation between all site controllers and Director, Corporate Controller.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Manages and oversees daily operations of Accounting department for the branch office in Ontario.
- Manages the performance of direct reports, including training, performance appraisal and coaching.
- Leads monthly and year end closing process, prepares year-end comparative financial statements and audit working papers.
- Coordinates and completes annual audits.
- Maintains integrity of the financial reporting process, financial controls and performs variance analysis.
- Prepares management and other financial performance reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Establishes, documents and enforces proper accounting methods, policies and procedures.
- Works closely with business process and systems implementation teams to ensure that all financial processes are in line with Company goals and objectives.
- Manages, scrutinizes and monitors overall capital expenditure within the scope of established budgetary cost control processes and governing company policies.
- Completes ad hoc projects.
- Takes on additional responsibilities as required.

**What You Bring**
- Five years of progressive finance and accounting experience with a medium to large corporation with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in accounting, business or finance preferred.
- Accounting designation (CPA) an asset.
- Experience creating and managing budgets for a large multi-site/department organization. Extensive experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management.
- Knowledge of MS Great Plains and MS Management Reporter is preferred.
