The Centre for Advancing the Interest of Black People is a new TCHC unit which embeds an anti-Black racism analysis into the culture and operations of TCHC. Supported by the Confronting Anti-Black Racism Strategy, the Centre achieves its mandate to institute organizational change by influencing TCHC’s service delivery model, providing data and information through policy and research to build better relationships with Black communities and increase the organization’s capacity to confront anti-Black racism.

As the The Centre Clerk, you will build strong internal and external relationships and play an integral part in implementing the Confronting Anti-Black Racism Strategy transforming Toronto Community Housing for the future

You will be a self-starter passionate about equity and confronting anti-Black racism and will be required to work with a high degree of independence, utilizing good judgment in the communication and processing of information that you encounter in your support capacity

**What you’ll do**
- Acts as the point of contact between the Centre Director and internal or external colleagues.
- Organizes meetings, handles correspondence, make arrangements for the booking of spaces and arrangements
- Provides support to the Centre Director in the development of reports and presentations, taking dictation and minutes
- Supports the Centre through the maintenance and organization of database systems
- Provides administrative support and tracks all Center incidentals (creates and maintains files, sorts and distributes incoming mail, maintain inventory of office supplies, prepares correspondence, statistical summaries, reports etc.) to the Centre.
- Provides administrative coordination of the purchasing, procure to pay process with internal and external suppliers
- Prepares and manages staff payroll on bi-weekly basis
- Tracks attendance for Director review as required
- Maintains data bases to retain pertinent information related Centre initiatives
- Responds to staff and tenant inquiries related to the Centre
- Produces as needed statistical and fiscal reports and databases related to Centre activities
- Coordinates on behalf of Director with other departments and Centre staff
- Create various spreadsheets and documents using Microsoft Excel
- Reconciles Purchase Cards and act as the Petty Cash/Token Custodian for Centre
- Liaise with vendors and Office Services related to Centre equipment
- Provide support and guidance to front line staff, including consultants and contract staff on any administrative needs
- Conduct compliance reviews as requested

**What you’ll need**
- Minimum of 3 years progressive administrative experience or an equivalent combination of related work experience and post-secondary education in a relevant field
- Experience in and interest in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion work as it pertains to anti-Black racism is considered an asset
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to compose correspondence, respond to information requests, liaise with staff, tenants and stakeholder
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize work and handle multiple assignments within deadlines in a high volume, high pressure environment.
- Knowledge of TCH policies and procedures
- Knowledge of anti-Black racism and anti-oppression principles is considered an asset
- Working knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act, Housing Services Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code and the Freedom of Information & Protection of Privacy Act
- Highly developed conflict resolution, problem solving, facilitation, and communication skills is considered an asset
- Ability to input, and manipulate data using MS Office, Excel, HOMES etc.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, and determine trends
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as work well in a team environment
- Ability to respond to enquiries from internal and external sources and to appropriately direct documents within the organization
