Maison Nazareth est un refuge d'urgence temporaire qui accueille tout le monde et nos services sont gratuits pour tous.

Notre objectif principal est d'offrir un endroit sûr à la population vulnérable et sans abri, et aussi de les aider à se réintégrer dans la communauté.

**Objectifs du poste**

Un travailleur de soutien du refuge fera preuve de professionnalisme, d'humilité et d'une compréhension approfondie des besoins des résidents du refuge ainsi que de la sécurité du refuge et de son environnement. Faciliter la vie commune au quotidien des habitants

Responsabilités
- Dépistez les personnes avant leur admission. Effectuer les tâches d'admission et de décharge. Orienter et aider les personnes à s'installer dans le refuge.
- Faciliter la vie commune quotidienne des clients
- Assurez-vous que le bureau et toutes les zones environnantes sont représentables, professionnels et propres
- Remplir les registres requis et conserver les données statistiques.
- Aider aux services de repas.
- Maintenir la propreté du site en accomplissant les tâches quotidiennes du quart de travail au besoin
- Surveiller et assurer la sécurité et le confort des personnes utilisant l'abri en faisant des rondes ponctuelles à l'intérieur/à l'extérieur du bâtiment.

Fournissez un soutien émotionnel, des encouragements et résolvez les problèmes.
- Fournir un soutien, un plaidoyer, des informations, une éducation, une intervention en cas de crise et des références pour les personnes utilisant les services.

Respecter la confidentialité des personnes utilisant le refuge ainsi que du personnel et du comité
- Remplir toutes les tâches assignées par le superviseur de quart.

**Qualifications**:

- Le bilinguisme en anglais et en français est un atout supplémentaire.
- Une expérience de travail auprès de la population vulnérable et de formation en intervention de crise ou l'équivalent des deux est un atout.
- Doit être disponible pour travailler sur tous les quarts de travail : jours, soirs et nuits, y compris les quarts de rotation.
- Casier judiciaire satisfaisant.
- Capacité à utiliser des processus d'intervention sensibles à l'âge, au revenu, au sexe, aux questions raciales et ethnoculturelles.
- Doit avoir la capacité d'utiliser un ordinateur
- Capacité démontrée à établir/maintenir des relations de travail satisfaisantes avec le public, les collègues et le personnel d'autres organisations
- Excellentes compétences en communication - verbale et écrite
- Capable de réagir de manière appropriée dans des situations d'urgence et de stress élevé
- Maintenir une apparence et une attitude professionnelles

- The House of Nazareth is am emergency shelter that offers services to everyone needing it for free. Our main objectives is to provide a comfortable place to stay for homeless and vulnerable people, while assisting them to reintegrate back into the society.

**Job objectives**: A Shelter Support Worker will demonstrate professionalism, humility and deeper understanding of the needs of residents in the shelter as well as the safety of the shelter and its environment. Facilitate day to day communal living among residents

**Responsibilities**:

- Screen people prior to admission. Perform intake and discharge duties. Orientate and assist people to settle in the shelter.
- Facilitate day to day communal living amongst clients
- Ensure that the desk area and all surrounding areas are representable, professional and clean
- Complete required records and maintain statistical data.
- Assist with meal services.
- Maintain cleanliness of the site by completing daily shift duties as required
- Monitor and ensure the safety and comfort for people using the shelter by doing timely rounds in/outside the building.

Provide emotional support, encouragement, and problem solves issues.
- Provide Support, advocacy, information, education, crisis intervention and referrals for people using the services.

Respect confidentially about people using the shelter as well as staff and committee
- Complete all duties assigned by the shift supervisor.

**Qualifications**:

- Bilingual in English and French is an added advantage.
- Experience in working with the vulnerable population and education in crisis intervention or an equivalent of both is an asset.
- Should be available to work on all shifts: days, evenings and nights inclusive of rotational shifts.
- Satisfactory criminal record.
- Ability to use interventions processes that are sensitive to age, income, gender, racial and ethnic-cultural issues.
- Must have the ability to use a computer
- Demonstrated ability to establish/maintain satisfactory work relationships with the public, coworkers and staff from other organizations
- Great communication skills - verbal and written
- Able to react appropriately in emergency and high stress situations
