Our **Purchaser** is an integral part in providing materials, goods and services on time in the correct volumes and at the best price. With expertise in manufacturing and vendor relationship management this position is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, and expediting to meet customer requirements and maintain inventory levels. This also includes compiling, verifying, analyzing and processing various relevant documents and reports.

**Your **Objective**:

- Support day-to-day tactical buying activity
- Maintain working knowledge of internal standard materials regularly used, inventory levels and usage rates
- Maintain working knowledge of industry pricing; source and procure materials, goods & outside processing, negotiate competitive pricing, prepare and expedite purchase orders
- Understand and utilize various purchasing reports, including MRP to determine inventory counts / requirements, and coordinate material and outside processing
- Maintain a high level of professionalism with vendors, field vendor enquiries and report on vendor performance
- Resolve missed deliveries, missing data and other material or goods related issues/non-conformances with vendors

**Success Requires**:

- Combinations of experience and relevant courses may also be considered.
- Three to Five years purchasing materials experience.
- Experience in a steel or aerospace manufacturing environment a significant asset.
- Related certifications, courses or diploma from a recognized post-secondary school is a requirement.
- **A Supply Chain Management or Purchasing designation (CSCP, SCMP) is preferred.**:

- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is a requirement. Experience with ERP systems is a significant asset.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent math skills are necessary for success.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to prioritize.
- Must have strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated positive attitude, initiative, the ability to work well with others and mínimal supervision.
