**Job Summary**: Managing and performing repairs on machines; regular preventative and predictive maintenance activities on equipment including building-related infrastructure related machinery as per company maintenance needs and health and safety policies.**
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Conduct predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical systems and industrial processes to prevent costly mechanical failure including:
- Monitoring and balancing coolant concentration in CNC machines
- Cleaning of cooling tanks and other equipment as necessary.
- Follow safe working procedures including the proper use of personal protective equipment to ensure a safe working environment including,- Cleaning shop floor areas and common areas throughout the facility.
- Coordinate repairs and logistics with external contractors as required including preparing purchase requests for major repair items and plant maintenance material i.e. coolants, coils and other supplies.
- Report any known missing or defective equipment or protective devices.
- Report any known workplace hazards.
- Work responsibly and effectively in accordance with appropriate practices and procedures to prevent breakdowns.
- Interpret schematics, mechanical drawings and other manufacturing technical documents to ensure safe and continuous operation of equipment.
- Measure, inspect, report on, and make recommendations for maintenance and machine refurbishment as part of the stakeholder quality systems and quality assurance program.
- Compile detailed and accurate documentation of all maintenance to have complete records.
- Analyze and problem solve to determine the root cause of machine failure, maintain effective functioning, and improve efficiency of operations.
- Occasional emergency on-call work may be required.
**Requirements**:
**Necessary knowledge and skills**
- High School Diploma along with a Diploma in mechanical, electrical, and/or at least 5 years of experience with CNC maintenance experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge in corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance of CNC equipment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, manufacturing processes preferred.
- Key skills: Strong sense of judgment, organization, integrity, initiative, team spirit, communication, workload management, attention to detail.
- Permanent Canadian residency required.
