As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Dynamics is seeking an eager enthusiastic experienced **CNC Machinist **to join our successful Toronto team immediately. We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills.

**Position Overview**:
Responsible for the machining of components to support the development of welding jigs and checking fixtures.

This position will report to the CNC Supervisor.

**This is a 3-month contract position.**

**What you will be doing**:

- Reviewing CAD models and drawings to develop programs for the CNC Lathe & Milling machine(s) to produce components for jigs and fixtures
- Developing/editing the necessary G code for the CNC Lathe & Milling machine(s)
- Preparing/cutting material in preparation for machining Development of BOMs for prototype, production and quotation activities
- Setup and operate the CNC Lathe & Milling machine(s)
- Performing routine maintenance on the CNC Lathe & Milling machine(s)
- Coordinating any major servicing of the Lathe & Milling machine(s)
- Ordering raw materials required for the machining of the jigs and fixtures
- Inspect the quality of the part by utilizing measurement equipment
- Monitoring inventory of the material and tools, and informing the supervisor
- Working with the Prototype Technician and Tooling Engineer to ensure jigs and fixtures are scheduled and completed in support of product launches and prototype requirements
- Working with the Tooling Engineer and Protoshop Technician to optimize the designs of the jigs and fixtures
- Communication & coordination with all other departments & vendors
- Ensures fair treatment of employees consistent with the Employment Standards Act, the Human Rights Code Active Collective Agreement & Active employee relations policies
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**What you bring along**:

- Mechanical Technician Diploma or CNC Machinist Diploma
- Understanding of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- 1-3 years of experience in G code development and programming CNC machines
- 2-5 years of experience operating CNC milling and lathe machines
- Experience with CNC lathe Okuma, and CNC mill Haas would also be beneficial
- A strong understanding of welding would also be beneficial
