**Description**:
Reporting to the Manager, the Practice Lead - Critical Care Strategic Clinical Network (CCSCN) provides direct coordination, support, and expert counsel to the Manager and the leadership team, and contributes to planning, design, coordination, implementation and evaluation of priority initiatives and quality improvement activities. This position will focus on advancing and sustaining initiatives to enhance appropriateness of blood transfusions and blood tests. The practice lead requires an in-depth understanding of the clinical practice environment of critical care and has the ability to establish front line engagement to support the translation of new knowledge and evidence into frontline, patient-level practice. The individual is a skilled communicator, facilitator and collaborator with a high degree of initiative and interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently. The position will lead change and support evidence-based practice by developing/maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders and leaders in the CCSCN, Patient/ Family Advisors, Patient Care & Unit Managers and frontline ICU teams/staff including but not limited to physicians, NPs, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and allied health professionals. This position is provincial in scope and will impact the care provided in multiple critical care units across the province.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of a post-secondary degree in Nursing required. Active registration with CRNA required. Minimum 5 years of current experience in Alberta Health Services, with current experience caring for critically ill patients in Intensive Care (ICU, PICU, CVICU). Minimum of 2 years progressive education, leadership or zonal experience supporting such areas as clinical practice guidelines, change management, policy/procedure, equipment/safety. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work positively and constructively in a team environment and proven ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, including a communication style that enables successful dissemination of leading practice knowledge to physicians, nurse practitioners, staff and other key stakeholders.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
A graduate degree in a health care discipline, health services, or business administration. Excellent presentation skills and experience delivering education. Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking. Demonstrated experience in educating health care professionals; ability and comfort with coaching and mentoring. Organized and comfortable working independently.
