**Title**: Deputy Chief Medical Officer
**Salary**: $200,702 - $250,876 - $301,053 per year (pay range explained below)
**Contract**: Permanent Full-time
**Hours**: 37.5 hours per week
**Location**: Anywhere in BC - Hybrid

**About the Role**
The Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to FNHA’s mission to support BC First Nations individuals, families and communities to achieve and enjoy the highest level of health and wellness. In this position, you will act as a public-facing, trusted and respected health and wellness leader for Indigenous people in BC. The DCMO honours and promotes both traditional Indigenous and Western approaches to health and wellness, medicines and healing and in so doing, represents the "best of both worlds."; and monitors the health and wellness of Indigenous people in BC to raise issues to leadership. In this role, you will foster two-way conversations and storytelling in delivering health and wellness messaging; and develop strong collaborative relationships with key physician groups to help improve health services and implement new ways of delivering services to First Nations. In this important work, the DCMO is a strategic leader who provides population health, medical and health system expertise throughout the FNHA for use in policy development, primary care projects, health benefits, regional operations and program and service transformation.

**About You**
To be successful in this role you will have/be:

- A Medical degree and certification in community medicine with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with over 10 years of public health leadership experience, or equivalent training in public health preferred;
- A charismatic leader with extensive community / public health experience in a senior leadership position;
- A leader with management acumen and demonstrated strength in articulating strategic vision, building effective relationships and networks, and in communicating with public and governmental audiences.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.

As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.
