**The Role**
- The Employment Placement Specialist (EPS) performs a job development role to support clients with job search activities to secure work experiences, training on the job opportunities, volunteer positions and paid employment opportunities. In this role the EPS initiates, builds and maintains positive relationships with employers, business and industry associations. The EPS will also provide support to clients and employers on the worksite to help clients with achievement of the short and long term employment goals.**Responsibilities**
- KEY DUTIES
- Program MARKETING, RECRUITING & INTAKES:
- assist with marketing the program to solicit client referrals;
- market the program to engage employer participation in the program;
- develop marketing collateral and communication materials
- assist with screening program applicants according to eligibility and program screening criteria.

EMPLOYER NETWORK:
- analyze and use current regional and local labour market information to strategically build employer networks;
- attend Board of Trade, Chamber, business and industry meetings and Job Fairs to liaise with employers, obtain LMI and promote programs;
- provide employers with information on accessing employer tools and resources such as diversity and inclusion training.

JOB SEARCH PREPARATION through one to one coaching or small group facilitation assist clients with:
- resume and cover letter development;
- interview skills;
- references;
- social media profiles;
- strategies for sourcing employment opportunities;
- informational interview prep.

JOB PLACEMENT
- Connect clients to employers to:
- secure suitable work experience, employment or volunteer opportunities;
- conduct informational interviews;
- participate in job shadowing opportunities;
- and assist to develop support training plans

CLIENT SUPPORT:
- coach and support clients as they seek employment;
- provide ongoing guidance, support and assistance to both employers and clients in work experience, employment placement and volunteer opportunities;
- provide clients with referrals to other community service providers when appropriate;
- provide clients with post-program follow up supports.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and maintain records of participant progress in CMS;
- Maintain employer records in CMS;
- Complete wage subsidy agreements and process employer claims;
- Complete reports as required by program;
- Attend and participate in team meetings;
- review client outcomes against performance targets, contributing strategies to ensure

program targets are met;
- Initiate, promote, organize and host a wide range of industry/employer events;
- Foster positive, productive working relationships and work collaboratively to contribute to a positive work environment based on mutual respect.
- Quality Assurance - Work to Training Group’s Quality Management System, ISO9001:2015 standard
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

**To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need**
- 2 year post secondary education in a relevant Marketing, Communications or Social Services related field
- Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) is preferred;
- Certificate or diploma in Job Development is preferred;
- 2 years experience working with diverse range of employers and/or community agencies and other stakeholders;
and/or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience;
- Ability to work with vulnerable populations and provide customer service excellence;
- Proven ability to successfully work within a multi-faceted program, and meet targets and deadlines;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to calmly solve problems;
- Demonstrated knowledge of the BC labour market;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Willingness to travel within the Lower Mainland and the Province of BC;
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle;
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal record check.
