$15.30 per hour (High School Students)

$17.30 per hour (Post-Secondary Students)

**Position Summary**:The Activity Assistant will assist with recreational program/activities for the Personal Care Home (PCH) residents. The Activity Assistant position functions in a manner consistent with the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority’s Mission, Vision and Values.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be Metis, Non-Status or Inuit.
- Successful applicants will possess good verbal communication skills, reliability, an enthusiastic
attitude and a desire to work with the elderly.
- Must be students between the ages of 16-29 who attended school full-time during the preceding year
and who intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the following academic year (part-time and
distance education students do not qualify).
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

**As a condition of employment, all successful applicants will be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check (with vulnerable sector screening), adult abuse and child abuse registry checks prior to commencing employment.**

Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to communicate in more than one language would be considered an asset. Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.

All health care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with the Interlake-Eastern RHA Policy (GA-13-P-110 Required Immunizations for Health Care Workers).
