**Bilingual Group Medical Underwriter**

As a **Bilingual** **Group Medical Underwriter**, you are primarily responsible for the assessment of evidence of insurability for applicants requesting employee benefits, using a rating system to identify non-standard health risks.

As a valued member of the Medical Underwriting Team, you will communicate with various sources, assess evidence of insurability regarding employee benefits and prepare underwriting decisions. You must be able to interact efficiently at all levels. You will have a broad knowledge of employee benefits and medical expertise obtained through a career in the medical field.

**What will you do?**
- Assess risk, prepare, track and communicate underwriting decisions
- Handle telephone inquiries including complex and sensitive situations
- Request additional medical information as required

**What you need to succeed**:

- Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required to answer calls from English and French speaking clients across Canada and worldwide.
- Medical underwriting background;
- Knowledge of Group Insurance;
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
- Well organized individual with strong analytical, problem solving, and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities
- Able to work independently to achieve team results;
- Attention to detail and able to identify issues, provide solutions and escalate as necessary;
- Must have a positive attitude and commitment to quality service;
- Must demonstrate a strong customer focus;
- Able to adapt to a constantly changing, fast paced environment;
- Proficient in Word and Excel
