Your Impact at Empire
As a Manager, Estimating you will lead various estimating exercises both within the Procurement Department, and with cross-departmental projects. Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and industry standards, collaboration with multiple internal and external partners, and successful coaching of junior estimators will critical to success in this role.

This role is located at our Empire Canada Homes Head Office in Vaughan, ON.

**What We Are Looking For**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or relevant field of study.
- 5-10 years in Estimating within the construction industry with a background in purchasing as an asset.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting construction drawings and other technical documents used in residential construction.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills to perform accurate calculations and assessments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates and budgets.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively multi-task with strong organizational and time management skills.
- (CCA) Gold Seal Certification or Professional Quantity Surveyor designation is a plus.

What You’ll Be Doing Each Day
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects including materials, labour, and equipment based on contract bids, quotations, construction drawings, and project specifications.
- Review and challenge costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Develop and manage budgets for new projects, model homes, and new model designs ensuring that estimates align with market conditions by identifying value engineering opportunities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and new construction technologies to provide accurate estimates and identify creative solutions to construct the most cost-effective houses.
- Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure new designs are feasible and to align on project scope and costs.
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, scopes of work, and specifications to understand the scope and requirements of the project.
