**Medical Scientific Advisor - Cardiovascular renal (CVR)**
A head-office based partner who reports to the Country Medical Director (CMD), and in a consultative engagement with the Medical Strategy Lead, proactively provides medical, scientific, strategic input, and functional expertise to cross-functional partners, Squad Leaders, Medical Field Managers, product squads and customer squads.
The Medical Scientific Advisor (MSA) acts as the primary scientific and strategic expert in the Therapeutic Area(s) by contributing to developing and executing the medical affairs strategy. Through consultation with the Medical Strategy Lead, as needed, the MSA provides proactive training, scientific advice and strategic input to internal and external stakeholders, product squads as well as the medical/scientific community. This role is also accountable for scientifically validating all materials and developing and contributing to omnichannel campaigns and relevant scientific materials.

**What you will do**:
1. Strategic contribution:
- Shaping and executing the national medical affairs strategy through the localization of the global medical and brand strategy, by using local field insights and partnering with local cross-functional teams, Medical Field Managers and global teams
- Responsible and accountable for driving a strategic partnership with local and national cross-functional teams
- Accountable for aligning evidence generation with medical and brand strategy; including ensuring proper alignment for defining the scope of potential Observational Studies (OS) and Investigator Initiated Research (IIR)
2. Data Generation:
- Accountable and responsible for managing study-related medical activities for Interventional Post-Approval Trials (IPAT), Observational Studies (OS) and Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) as locally required
- Contributes to the ideation and generation of clinical evidence to identify and address information gaps for the products across the life cycle.
3. Managing external relationships:
- Responsible and accountable for fostering Medical Affairs relationships with Thought Leaders and external stakeholder groups e.g. healthcare organizations, medical societies, research groups, patient groups, government/ regulatory institutions
- Provide medical affairs support in the field for cross-functional activities, as needed.
- Accountable for providing scientific contributions to the development and implementation of Bayer organized national, regional and local medical learning programs
4. Internal support:
- Responsible and accountable for providing medical support on internal projects e.g. pre-launch activities, regulatory documentation and submission, access and reimbursement processes, dossier development, etc.
- Responsible and accountable for proactively ensuring that Bayer medical activities are in-line with relevant guidelines, regulations and legislation
- Responsible for providing scientific education and training to cross-functional partners on product data, therapeutic area knowledge, and local clinical operations and clinical development studies
- Responsible and accountable for scientifically reviewing and approving therapeutic area/ product related materials, external communications and advising cross-functionally using medical/ scientific expertise
5. Medical Queries:
- Responsible for documenting and processing medical Information queries in alignment with local Medical Information handling procedures
6. Medical Analytics and Digital Projects
- In collaboration with colleagues, develop a digital strategy and lead digital projects for implementation within the medical affairs team
- Responsible and accountable for using cross-functional knowledge to create medical Omnichannel campaigns: including content development, multichannel strategy and the customer journey.
**Who you are**:
- MD, PhD, PharmD, or MSc (or other advanced or specialized degree in life sciences).
- Previous experience and deep knowledge of relevant therapeutic area is a preference.
