We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team.

**General Description**:
Under general direction of the Vice President of Operations, this role is responsible for executing scope of work according to contractual requirements, identifying opportunities for customer related improvements and added value services or products. The position also involves maintaining and troubleshooting equipment. You will build and mainatin professional relationships with clients, property management, and building staff to ensure excellent customer service.

**Characteristics, Features, Requirements**:
This is a fulltime position. During your employment, you are expected to familiarize with the CARMA Quality Manual, CARMA Health and Safety Manual, the Field Orientation Safety and Technical Manual, the CARMA Installation Manual and the Commissioning and Installation Inspection Manuals. The Orientation Skills Requirement for all Trainees will be implemented, tests will be performed and graded before orientation training is complete. You will also clearly demonstrate your ability to work independently and perform all of the technical requirements found with each of the primary work responsibilities described below - _Service Technician Responsibilities_. Critical to these responsibilities, is the requirement to complete assigned tasks successfully and on-time.

**Reporting**:
The role reports directly to the National Technical Support Manager, who will be the training mentor and will monitor and review performance goals and objectives and weekly work schedules. The Service Technician is required to report as follows, but not limited to:

- Submit weekly activity & expense reports by 9:00 am Monday each week for the prior week including, service work orders, submeter commissioning and accuracy inspection reports to the Business Operations Support team.

**Important and Essential Duties**:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

- **Service Technician Responsibilities**_
- Primary responsibility for a service technician is to be part of the Support Team to service and maintain the Carma sub-metering portfolio;
- Inspect, service and maintain the operation of various types of metering equipment, including computers;
- Performs site visits when required to identify and resolve meter issues and follow up to ensure the issue is closed;
- Gather data from a variety of sources, meter types, and distributes in various formats as required;
- Work with internal departments to provide assistance for onsite support.
- Assists with commissioning and verification of meters after installation;
- Serves as a point of contact for customers regarding service matters and assisting with escalations from Customer Service team;
- Works with Sales, Project Management and Customers regarding meter installations, timelines, equipment requirements etc.;
- Analyzes various types of meter data when required, reviews weekly meter reports and follows up on issues, ensuring accuracy of meters for billing;
- Provides remote support to customers, and organizations regarding their accounts;
- Ensures all customer inquiries are handled in a professional and timely manner.

**Other responsibilities may include**:

- General office tasks;
- Creates documentation for record keeping purposes for review;
- Assists with maintaining service vehicles.

**Experience/Knowledge/Ability**
- Experience working with various software programs, strong MS Office and technical skills are required; Databases knowledge is an asset;
- Exercise logic and common sense, as well as possess strong analytical and problem-solving techniques;
- Superior communication skills, both written and oral;
- Superior customer service skills, patience, and the ability to create and maintain effective client relations;
- Detail-oriented, ability to show initiative, take responsibility, and multitask;
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a changing environment;
- Effective time management and organizational skills;

- Ability to favorably represent the Company image to clients;
- Outgoing, personable, responsible, self-motivated, and confident.

**Qualifications**
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma courses in electrical theory, mathematics, mechanical engineering, computer science, or experience as an electrical technician or in a related field would be considered an asset.
