Kitchener, Canada Business and Education Partnership of Waterloo Region Full time

The Business & Education Partnership of Waterloo Region (“BEP Waterloo Region”) is a charity dedicated to helping local youth better understand and prepare for the world of work so that they can build their own paths to successful careers. We do this by creating career exploration, skill development, and networking opportunities between students in grades 7 to 12 and members of the local workforce. By guiding youth to make informed decisions about their future, we contribute to a happy, healthy community.
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

**Responsibilities**
- Planning pre-production of videography projects, such as career profiles, workplace tours, instructional videos, or promotional videos for our programs
- Capturing b-roll footage
- Editing footage and adding graphic elements
- Making updates based on feedback
- Assisting at in-person events which may include setting up signage and materials, directing guests, capturing photos or video, etc.
- Captioning new and existing videos and adding voiceovers, including in foreign languages

**Qualifications**
- Demonstrated experience planning, filming and editing high quality video
- Ability to interact effectively with people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Ability to work independently to meet agreed upon timelines
- Proficient written and verbal English language skills
- Living in or in close commuting distance to Waterloo Region, with reliable access to a vehicle for in-person filming & photo shoots

**Helpful assets**
- Basic graphic design skills
- Familiarity uploading content to YouTube and other social media platforms
- Photography experience
- Familiarity with G-Suite platform (Google Drive, Gmail, etc.)
- Interest in education / career development / charitable sectors
- Familiarity with Waterloo Region community

**Terms of Employment**:

- 35 hours/week
- $17.20/hour plus 4% vacation pay
- Expected Start Date: Monday, May 1, 2023
- Expected End Date: Friday, June 23, 2023 (this is dependent on funding which is expected to be for 8 weeks)
- Office location: Primarily work from home with time in office as needed / preferred
- Occasional evening work (e.g. 1-2 evenings) may be required for events

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 weeks

**Salary**: From $17.20 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Kitchener, ON
