**Job Synopsis**

As a member of the Donor Relations team, this position will enhance and support the department through stewardship, expressing appreciation to donors and data management of donor files, while supporting MCC’s relief, development and peacebuilding work. This is a 13 week contract role sponsored by Canada Summer Jobs.

This position will also assist in our reception area of the MCC office at 50 Kent Street, Kitchener. This will be a hybrid role, with the need to be in the office 3 days weekly.

**Qualifications**

Required

- Customer service experience and/or telephone conversational experience
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook and/or working with an online database is an asset
- Ability to maintain confidentiality required, including tact and diplomacy
- Ability to work as part of a team within a diverse cultural and theological milieu
- Police vulnerable sector check (required upon hire)
- Legally able to work in Canada

Preferred
- Ability to work independently and prioritize a wide variety of tasks an asset

To be eligible, youth must:

- meet all qualifications of the Canada Summer Jobs Program
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_ for the duration of the employment and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

**International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible. As the objective of the Canada Summer Jobs program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student’s time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.

**Key Responsibilties**

- Support staff with stewardship of mass, middle and lapsed donors
- Make telephone calls of appreciation to specified donors, including mass and new donors
- Cultivate stories for donor engagement
- Assist with reporting to donors on impact of giving
- Manage, track and facilitate contact entries into Donor Management System
- Update donor database files
- Reception coverage including answering phones, receiving mail and assisting Revenue Development Associate
- Participate in team meetings, participate as a member of the Donor Relations team, offering feedback, suggestions and ideas to help achieve department goals.

- Perform other job related duties as assigned
- Participate in MCCO orientations, provincial meetings, Peace Conference and Staff Development Day
- Participate in a local faith community, being willing to use personal gifts within this community and model nonviolent peacemaking through respectful interaction with others
- Maintain a high level of integrity, reflecting Christian respect and Christ's unconditional love to those with whom you work, including colleagues, partner agencies, the homeless and marginalized
- Answer inquiries about MCC from constituency and general public; communicate MCC's values, articulating the importance of MCC's criteria for workers, all of whom serve as representatives of the Mennonite and Be in Christ churches which support MCC
- Model nonviolent peacemaking through respectful daily interactions with staff and the public
