Accounting Assistant

**NOTE: This position is limited to NAIT internal staff only.**

The Financial Operations department is seeking an ambitious individual to join our Accounts Receivable and Reporting team. This position ensures the accuracy of the General Ledger on the Financial System as compared to the payments recorded in the Student Financials system on a daily/monthly basis, and that generally accepted accounting principles are adhered to.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Analysis, research, and preparation of students’ accounts for collections and write offs.
- Preparation of billing for NAIT including third party tuition sponsorship billing.
- Posting charges to student accounts for various departments across NAIT.
- Reconciliation of various general ledger accounts for monthly, quarterly and year end reporting.
- Other related duties including but not limited to:

- Accounts Receivable functions
- Investigation of Student Financial transactions

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Demonstrated ability to work within a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

**Qualifications**:

- Accounting Certificate or Diploma.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Finance and Campus Solutions is preferred.
- Experience in Reconciliations will be an asset.

**Remuneration**: $1,890.34 - $2,203.19 bi-weekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Finance/Accounting Assistant I).
- This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement._
