Summer Student: Surveyor

**Summary**:
The Rural Municipality of St. Clements is looking for 2 to 3 summer students enrolled in a Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technologist program for the period of approximately May 6th to Aug 30th. Wage for this period is $23.01 per hour less deductions.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Primarily Survey (Data collection and layout of drainage and road works)
- Assist with preparation and execution of overall work plan and schedule.
- Prepare and participate in meetings with project team, consultants and subcontractors.
- Maintain project awareness in order to keep Project Manager and others informed about status and potential project issues.
- Provide other technical office support as required by the project team.
- Data collection and setup traffic counters.
- Asphalt patch and crack calculations.

**Qualifications**:

- Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering or Civil Tech program.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to read and interpret contract specifications, drawings and other construction documents.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office including MS Project and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Computer and software supplied by successful applicant.
- Client service and customer focused in order to establish and maintain effective relationships with the community.
- Strong organizational and time management skills in order to prioritize workload.
- Must be able to meet with residents of the RM.
- Self-motivated with strong willingness and ability to learn and be challenged.
- Ability to survey using GPS, rod and level.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in surveying as well as some experience in road construction, drainage and data collection.
