We’re hiring a **Jr. Performance Capture Technician** for some exciting new projects We’re offering a six month contract for this role, with the possibility of extension. The role will be based onsite in Vancouver for training, with possible work at our Burnaby studio in the near future.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**Supporting the production teams with the acquisition of performance capture data during performance sessions.- Tracking and cleaning motion capture data in Motive v3.- Re-targeting and re-animating as needed.- Supporting the Motion Capture team w/daily production prep, systems set up, and general studio/stage maintenance.-
- Operating proprietary tools related to the acquisition systems.- Providing animation feedback and communicating best practices with intention for animation refinement.- Learning proprietary art pipelines, new technology, and processes.- Helping document workflow and pipelines.- Contributing to post mortems, provide feedback, help improve motion capture process and data output.- Working across departments including rigging, animation and pipeline to determine and fulfill needs.

**IDEAL REQUIREMENTS**Minimum 1-2 years of experience in animation, rigging, or motion editing preferred.- Familiarity with basic character rigging and animation concepts - demo reel should include something like human animation, examples of control rigs in use, etc.- Working knowledge of Maya and MotionBuilder.- Experience with performance capture systems is helpful but not mandatory.- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with mocap pipeline.-
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

**GOOD TO HAVE**- Knowledge of Python and how to create tools for Maya/Motion Builder.- Unreal Engine Knowledge, Character blueprints, LiveLink.- Comfortable using construction tools for prop/set build (such as drills, hammers, electrical jigsaw).- Scissor Lift and boom lift certification.
