Regina, Canada Regina Airport Authority Full time

Regina Airport Authority is looking for 2 -3 Seasonal Equipment Operators based on operational requirements who will be responsible for operating heavy and light duty equipment to ensure the Regina International Airport (YQR) is operating in a safe, secure, and efficient manner. The position is responsible for inspecting and maintaining airside and groundside surfaces, general repairs and preventative maintenance work on all surfaces and equipment. The position is responsible for assisting in emergency situations to ensure YQR is always safe and secure.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- While promoting safety awareness, perform all duties with an ownership attitude in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Assist with ensuring appropriate response procedures are carried out in the event of an emergency.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the companies Mission, Vision and Corporate Values.
- Remove and control foreign object debris (FOD) and other obstacles on the airfield.
- Inspect and evaluate condition of runways, taxiways, and aprons.
- General airside and groundside maintenance including waste collection.
- Assist with maintaining perimeter fences, road safety equipment (signs, barriers, and other traffic control devices, etc.).
- Assist with maintenance and repair of all airport surfaces, including asphalt, concrete and gravel areas using various types of heavy equipment.
- Assist with equipment maintenance, special events and projects.
- Understand and comply with all Corporate Policies and Procedures.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- High school diploma or GED equivalent. Some post-secondary education would be an asset.
- Two (2) years related equipment operating experience; preferably with proficiency in skid-steer and wheel loader operation.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of various types of equipment and materials related to runway and surface maintenance, including asphalt, de-icing and other chemicals would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge and ability to safely operate various types of heavy equipment, power tools and hand tools.
- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills to professionally manage a multitude of tasks in a customer focused environment.
- Ability to grow and maintain positive professional relationships with corporate departments, key business partners and team members.
- Capable of performing within a transparent work environment where collaborative relationships are encouraged, and varied opinions are respected.

**SALARY RANGE A S PER THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT**
- Band 4
- Rate of Pay: $34.48 per hour

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- No previous criminal background for which a pardon has not been granted.
- Ability to secure a clear National Criminal Record through the internal pre-employment background screening process.
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Security Clearance, Airside Vehicle Operators Permit and an Industry Canada Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate.
- Possession of a valid Class 3 driver’s license with an air brake endorsement.
- A clean driver’s abstract.
- Assessed as Fit for Work under the pre-employment medical examination
