Environmental and Permitting Coordinator

Hinton, Canada Chinook Construction Full time

**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Understand current permits, approvals, management plans, and associated regulatory requirements
- Develop and review various compliance reports and environmental management plans
- Provide technical and administrative coordination throughout the permitting process
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors and engineering staff
- Assist with field samples and inspections as required
- Other duties as assigned.

**EDUCATION/** **SKILL** **REQUIREMENT**
- University or collage degree in related engineering or science field preferred; other related education and experience will be considered
- Specific knowledge and experiencing permitting under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, the Water Act, Public Lands Act and the Coal Conservation Act
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Auto CAD experience an asset
- Ability to work independently and to work as a team
- Ability to meet tight turnaround times, and work to tight deadlines
- Skilled at working with Microsoft office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Working experience within environmental services is a huge asset.
- Ability to adapt to change and be flexible.
