**About the role**:The bail verification and supervision program is responsible for expediting bail and court proceedings; reducing failures to appear through supervision of clients; and assisting clients to initiate steps to remedy issues and problems that may have contributed to the alleged misconduct, and supervise CBSA bail clients. This position provides leadership to the staff of JHS Bail Verification and Supervision Program. This is a full time Interim position from June 2023 - March 2024. The coordinator will be responsible for the management of staff, the overall operation of the program, and will be required when necessary to carry a small caseload and provide coverage for other members of the Bail Team. This position reports to the Director of Adult Justice Services.

**Education and Experience**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in related field
- Experience in management, administration and/or coordination of a program that services clients considered an asset
- Minimum 5 years of engaging and collaborating with vulnerable populations, specifically those who are at-risk or already involved in the justice system
- Past or present positions held within the youth or adult justice system
- Past or present positions successfully collaborating with the police, court, and homeless systems in Ottawa
- Proven success in collaborating with system partners in multi-sectoral roles
- Advanced knowledge of Caseworks - Case management Software
- Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and ASIST certification preferred and advanced MI training considered a strong asset

- Ability to oversee all aspects of the Bail Verification and Supervision Program

- Program evaluation skills
- Decision making and problem solving skills
- Ability to engage and work effectively with Criminal Lawyers, Crown Attorneys, Justice of
- the Peace and other court staff
- Skill in building community relationships
- Bilingual skills in the French language a definite asset
- Understanding of factors that contribute to justice system involvement
- Strong Motivational Interviewing skills to support the establishment of case plans with clients, as well as support them in taking steps to achieve those goals
- Competency using crisis management skills
- Competency in report writing, gathering and interpreting data and outcome measures, as required by Director
- Understanding of operating within agency policies and procedures
