**Backhoe Operator**

**Primary Responsibilities/Duties**:

- Reporting to Site Superintendent / Supervisor.
- Pre-Operational Equipment Inspections on SiteDocs.
- Handle and transport job materials within the work areas.
- Safe operation of equipment and comply with all safety requirements of the job.
- Identify, report, and correct hazards.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
- Team player, able to get along with a diverse group of people working towards a common goal.
- Proficient loader backhoe operating skills.
- Carefully excavating near/around underground obstructions and utilities.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 3 years heavy equipment operating experience.
- Criminal Background Check as required for secure sites.
- Must have a Valid Class 5 Drivers License and a reliable vehicle.

**Preferred Qualifications/Assets**:

- Preferred five (5) years of experience in commercial and/or industrial construction.
- Preferred Class 3 License w/ Air.
- Experience working in utility or telecom industry.

**Ability to**:

- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with supervisors, peers, and clients.
- Ability to think logically about work at hand and compare site conditions with project designs.
- Detect errors, determine causes, and make corrections as appropriate.
- Work in all weather conditions and various locations.
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, and lift 50 lbs.

**Hour Wage Range**: $26.48 - $31.07 _(depending upon experience, qualifications) _
