General Laborer

Oak Bluff, Canada Quantum Utilities Ltd. Full time

**Primary Responsibilities/Duties**:

- Reporting to Site Supervisor.
- Completion of daily/weekly safety documentation (SiteDocs).
- Field labour such as handling conduit, pulling fiber optic cable and setting vaults.
- Fusing HDPE conduit.
- Assisting directional driller by handling rods, attaching reamers, hooking pipe or cables.
- Complying with all safety requirements of the job.
- Operating equipment such as backhoe, mini-ex, skid steer.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

**Qualifications**:

- Preferred 1-year experience in construction or service industry.
- Experience operating underground utility and telecommunication installations.
- Experience operating a Dozer Plow, Heavy Machinery, etc. an asset.
- Ability to think logically about work at hand and compare site conditions with project designs.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with supervisors, peers and clients.
- Ability to travel where projects dictate.
- Ability to detect errors, determine causes, and make corrections as appropriate.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Ability to work long and unpredictable hours (Overtime, Evenings, etc.)
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs.; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes.
- Criminal Background Check as required for secure sites.
- **Valid Class 5 Drivers License.**

**Preferred Qualifications/Assets**:

- Experience with installing Telecommunications or Hydro underground utilities.
- Class 3 License w/ Air (preferred).
- Experience operating Heavy Equipment an asset.
