This position will require an in-office presence of five (5) days a week.

The intent of this selection process is to staff one full-time term position until March 31, 2027.

Education
- Completion of post-secondary education with a specialization in mineral processing, chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience related to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience
- Experience handling hazardous chemicals,
- Experience working in a chemistry laboratory environment,
- Experience working with a computerised inventory system.

Information on language requirements

Knowledge
- Knowledge of chemical reactivity and incompatibility,
- Knowledge of hazardous waste regulations,
- Knowledge of the workplace hazardous materials information system (WHMIS),
- Knowledge of transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) regulations.

Abilities/Competencies
- Ability to communicate effectively orally
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing,
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment ,
- Ability to control and maintain a computerised inventory system.
