Production Coordinator

Signature Supplements Inc. is currently seeking a Production Coordinator, based out of our Dartmouth location. This role reports directly to the Production Manager and involves improving team communication, training, daily production operations, and upholding standards of quality, safety, and process improvement. We seek a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership and team coordination skills to oversee and support the Warehouse, Finishing, and Shipping teams. The right person has a strong moral code and sense of ethics. They are flexible and adaptable team players and have excellent people management and communication skills.
Experience in a production setting is required, with a background in natural health products, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or compounding will be considered an asset.
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage team schedules, coordinate team support, conduct team huddles, and lead performance discussions.
- Provide direction and support to the Material Handler, Finishing Technician, and Shipping Representative, ensuring clear communication and effective teamwork.
- Plan and execute onboarding and training programs for team members, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, and key performance indicators are met.
- Ensure high levels of sanitation and accuracy, and mentor and coach team members to enhance their performance.
- Coordinate daily schedules and priorities with Team Leads, address material handling and finishing process issues, and ensure smooth production flow across Warehouse, Finishing, and Shipping.
- Support the Warehouse team to ensure orders are received accurately, materials are labeled and stored efficiently, and projects are picked in priority sequence for the lab.
- Supervising and supporting Shipping, including packing of products to ensure accuracy and no damage, preparing waybills for multiple carriers, and FDA Prior Notice.
- Establish and maintain KPI dashboards for Warehouse, Finishing, and Shipping performance metrics.
- Regularly assess metrics to provide feedback on productivity and quality adherence.
- Ensure accuracy in Warehouse, Finishing, and Shipping procedures, and oversee department audits and error tracking.
- Contribute to investigations of internal incidents and customer complaints, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and standard work instructions.
- Lead occupational health and safety (OHS) initiatives with identifying gaps and opportunities for compliance, including policy improvement
- Ensure occupational health and safety standards are trained and followed, including sanitation and PPE protocols.
- Implement Kaizen initiatives to enhance production efficiencies and processes.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Science, or relevant work experience.
- 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
- Experience in lean manufacturing principles such as Kaizens and Value Stream Mapping.
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) permanent opportunity that offers a starting wage of $22/hour and upon a successful probationary period will be reviewed. Hours are 9:30am - 5:30pm with two (2) weeks’ vacation per year along with personal days, benefits after three months and a Deferred Profit-Sharing Program to further enhance your financial wellness.
