**Job Overview**:
**Role and Responsibilities**:

- Oversees and manages all accounting functions for the organization including revenue accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable/receivable and financial statement preparation
- Maintains and improves financial information and recording systems by ensuring that proper accounting principles and practices are followed, that the company policies are adhered to and ensures that all financial information within the company is collected and reported in a timely and accurate way to meet internal and external reporting requirements
- Ensure monthly reconciliations of all ledgers are maintained, appropriate accruals and prepayments are processed for accurate reporting.
- Provides monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Group policies
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audit and mid-year review
- Provide oversight to the finance internal control system and processes. Maintain, improve and develop processes and related documentation across the Finance department
- Ensure payments to suppliers is completed in an accurate and timely manner; maintain the related system and controls to support the payment process
- Manage cashflow and maintain a balance between available cash, loan withdrawals and expected future payments
- Ensures compliance on all tax filings of the company
- Responsible for the organization’s annual budget consolidation and quarterly forecasting
- Responsible for managing accounting staff, including; monitoring performance, day-to-day coaching and providing performance feedback, performance appraisals, professional development, goal setting, and improvement plans
- Assisting/coordinating quarterly and annual presentation deck and support for Board meetings
- Occasional travel to manufacturing facility in Fergus
- All other duties as required

**Education/Experience**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, CPA designation would be an asset
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a professional accountant, 5 years recent experience in a management position, with experience ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Experience supervising accounting team (AP, AR, general accounting)

**Knowledge**:

- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and requirement for external reporting
- Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems, preferably Epicor
- Familiarization/knowledge of Power BI would be an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and proven ability to analyze large amounts of data
