The Victim Service Advocate provides services as part of the Victim Assistance Program at the Victoria Child Abuse Prevention and Counselling Centre (VCAPCC). Victim Services is an important aspect of the services and support provided by the centre and are a crucial part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team approach at the Victoria Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC).

**What You Bring**:

- BA, BSc, BSW or equivalent education. Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 1-year relevant experience with clients where abuse is suspected or confirmed.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create and maintain a welcoming, friendly, safe and respectful environment which affirms and promotes the dignity of children and adults with diverse backgrounds, interests and needs.
- Ability to work independently, as a member of a professional team and with groups.
- Competent computer knowledge and skills.
- Ability to practice your own self-care and maintain your own wellness.
- Provided evidence of a clear criminal record check.
- Cultural competence and knowledge about the impact of historical and intergenerational trauma and how it relates to contemporary social issues with Indigenous peoples.

**What We Offer**:
This position is paid at CSSEA/BCGEU **Grid 14-P** with an hourly rate of **$38.68**. As a Union member you can expect yearly raises, employer paid health and welfare benefits (after a period of **455hrs**), job security, and eligibility for the Municipal Pension Plan after 2 ears of continuous employment. The agency offers stability, security and a team of skilled counsellors for peer support, ongoing training opportunities, and regular supervision to ensure the health and safety of all team members.

This position is open to all genders. Hours of work offered are **28 hours** per week, 9am-5pm, Tuesday-Friday at VCAPCC's main downtown office located at 107-1208 Wharf Street. Start date will be in **June 2024. This is a short term position and will terminated on 23-Aug-2024.**
