The Forecast Analyst drives brand commercial success through communicating insights derived from data and market / brand knowledge and supports the business on a variety of therapeutic areas. The Analyst also works in partnership with Finance to drive and deliver monthly, annual and long range financial plans. The Analyst works in partnership with brand managers to address the needs and uncover opportunities for improved brand performance. This is a newly created role and head-office based position.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Identify and interpret trends and patterns affecting various performance metrics, explore the causes of variances.
- Learn and understand the logic behind the different forecast models that are used to support AbbVie’s brands and potential of adding new assets.
- Manage forecast models and lead the forecasting process through monthly and annual process demonstrating project management skills which includes maintenance and adjustment as needed the data elements within the libraries and cubes that support the forecast process, timely loading of external and internal date sources, the implementation of proper management techniques for data collection and improvement of efficiency and secure procedure for data management and analysis.
- Deliver analytics that identify opportunities that improve/accelerate brand performance
- Assume ownership of analytical projects and forecasting process and enable open and thoughtful discussion about business opportunities and barriers.
- Produce analyses in a timely manner and derive conclusions which are presented with a business focus.
- Analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources and provide perspective and insights on issues/opportunities.
- Work with Finance and brand managers to align on monthly highlights, risks and opportunities and brand financials.
- Work in collaboration with Market Access to deliver assessments and forecasts for brand listing opportunities when needed.
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with Abbvie colleagues both local and global and a strong knowledge of industry developments to improve our sales effectiveness processes and drive best practices in Canada.
- Is an active contributor to brand teams and balances analytical perspective with business drive.
- Work collaboratively with Sales Operation Analysts, Finance, Market Access, and other cross-functional departments as appropriate.
**Qualifications** Education and Experience required**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance or Science; MBA or CPA considered a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the pharmaceuticals industry preferred. Preferably including significant time in an analytical environment role like for 2 years in Sales, Marketing, Market Research, Finance, or other cross functional experience considered an asset.

- Demonstrated autonomy, curiosity, and proactivity in an ambiguous/complex/dynamic environment.
- Ability to analyze diverse sets of data using multiple tools combined with strong technical and technology learning agility.
- Ability to communicate in a simple, focused manner that drives reflection about business opportunities or challenges that leads to a discussion about potential courses of action to drive brand commercial success.
- Ability to develop and maintain credible professional relationships with colleagues, clients, and to achieve business goals - a collaborative, team player mindset is essential for success, including good political savviness and business acumen.
- Must demonstrate an understanding of how to effectively meet customer needs in a complex environment through forward-thinking, innovative strategies that align with the company objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Display creativity and analytical rigor
- Proficiency with MS Office and ease with technology.
