In-Home Respite Worker (Subcontractor/ Casual)

As a Respite Support Worker, your primary role will be to provide compassionate care and assistance to a child with special needs, focusing on promoting skill development through engaging educational activities at home. You'll play a crucial role in supporting the child with their daily routines while creating a nurturing environment that fosters growth and learning.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children with Autism.
- Support the child with daily home routines.
- Engage the child in educational activities tailored to their interests and developmental needs.
- Consistent and dependable in fulfilling responsibilities and commitments.
- Capable of engaging in physically active play and support.
- Demonstrate patience and understanding while managing and redirecting challenging behaviours.
- Maintain open communication with the child's family and Ancora, regarding the child's progress and any concerns.

**Job Details**:

- Hourly Wage: $21 per hour.
- Two-three shifts as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Spanish-speaking respite worker preferred.
- Education: A diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child and Youth Worker, or a similar relevant field.
- CPR and First Aid: Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- May be required to provide medical documentation as needed to support the vulnerable sector population in the public.
