**The Opportunity**

As **Manager, Family Law Advice Services**, your primary function is being accountable for the on-going operations delivered by staff and other service providers, building relationships with and among internal and external stakeholders, facilitating justice services improvements, including those for Family Law Advice Services including proposed or new projects, negotiating contracts, preparing and managing budgets, policy development and oversight, and being the Legal Aid BC (LABC) knowledge expert on brief family law advice services.

Key accountabilities include, but aren't limited to:
**Strategic Management, Internal and External**
- Serves as a member of the Managers Forum and other LABC committees as
directed.
- Participates in the development of LABC’s strategic service plan, organizational
plan, policies, and budget.

**General Management**
- Drafts and presents issue and discussions papers to Executive Management Committee, LABC Board and committees.

**Knowledge Expert for LABC**
- Provides advice and recommendations on policy, administration, management.
- Monitors external policy, trends and legal developments which have a potential
impact on legal aid brief advice service delivery.

**Family Advice Services**
- Recommends and manages family advice services, approved projects, and carries
out related tasks listed below:
**More About You**
- Completion of a law degree from a law school of recognized standing or eligibility
for membership in the Law Society of British Columbia
- Practicing Lawyer called to the Bar in British Columbia (without restrictions on
area of practice)
- Minimum of six years’ family and child protection law experience, as well as legal
practice experience in B.C.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- All LABC employees are required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of hire and ongoing employment._
