**What is the Opportunity?**

Under the direction of the Manager, Finance, the
**Student, Finance** will be responsible for providing financial and cost control support for various business units within the Utilities group.

Co-op length is
**12-month co-op**.

**What You Will Do Here**:

- Assist in the timely financial close of the Company at each period-end
- Assist in the timely financial close of the Company at each period-end
- Assist with the development of the quarterly forecasts in concert with the respective department business partners
- Investigate / analyze Corporate SG&A variances from budget/forecast on a monthly/quarterly basis - working closely with business partners
- Enhance the budgeting/forecasting and financial processes and support process improvement initiatives to achieve financial goals and improve efficiency and profitability
- Assist in the external and internal audit; prepare schedules, analysis and supporting documents as requested by the auditors
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Assist Supply Chain Management with inquires or issues pertaining to Purchase Order, Receiving and Accounts Payable in SAP
- Act as “Internal Auditor” assuring internal controls are being followed.
- Assist with interim and year-end audit and reporting requirements.
- Build and maintain excel reporting models used for monthly and quarterly reporting;

**What You Bring To The Team**:

- Working towards accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CMA, CA);
- Currently enrolled in an accounting discipline or related business degree
- Demonstrated computer software proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral;
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency by demonstrating the ability to shift priorities to accomplish objectives and meet deadlines.
- Effectively manage time to keep commitments to both internal and external clients.
- Communication - excellent ability to clearly and effectively communicate information and clarify requirements both orally and in writing.
