We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Winnipeg or Toronto.

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll and maintaining the employee database regarding salary and pay. This role will cooperate with different departments to increase the payroll service performance and improve upon the payroll system.

**The Payroll Specialist will**:

- Accurately enter, process, and balance the bi-monthly payroll earnings and adjustments for the assigned Payrolls.
- Act as the primary liaison between the payroll and accounting departments
- Prepare routine and special reports including preparing month end (OT, vacation, sick, EE changes, garnishments, LTD & taxable benefits) and year end reporting
- Process and balance payroll expenses, deductions, and adjustments
- Assist in preparation of monthly journal entries for payroll, accruals and WCB for all regions
- Calculate and submit monthly WSIB remittances and RRSP
- Prepare year end T4, year-end returns for EHT and WCB for all regions

**To be successful as a Payroll Specialist **with BPA, you will need**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline
- Full cycle payroll experience
- PCP designation or willing to obtain
- Good knowledge of employment standards in Ontario, Alberta, BC, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and most other provinces
- Good knowledge of taxable benefits and relevant reporting for such
- Experience with Excel spreadsheets and keeping data organized
- College diploma in accounting or related field
- Experience with ADP WFN or Ceridian platforms
- Excellent written and oral communication
- A metric oriented mindset and confidence with critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- The "think outside the box" mindset that expects change and reacts with the understanding, perspectives, tools, and techniques to make change seamless and effortless
