Your Role and Responsibilities
This role is performed by technical professionals responsible for the physical and technical aspects of a database systems. Responsibilities for this job role include, but are not limited to, installation and maintenance of the database system, installation of upgrades and patches, performance and capacity monitoring & management, and security compliance. Potential interaction with clients (internal or external) to understand and meet requirements for the delivery of services related to database products.

Sr. Application DBA duties with MS SQL, Azure, Oracle and Netezza that is proficient in planning and leading patching upgrades for Production clustered databases in an ON PREM environment and cloud environments. Lots of your typical blocking and tackling with indexing, planning for performance, working with app teams, and as mentioned, keeping DB’s patched so security is out of operations hair.
Develop and modify database objects such as stored procedures, triggers, views, and ad-hoc queries as part of project implementation.
Participate with a project team to develop and implement databases, and manage, monitor, troubleshoot, and tune database performance.
Collaborate with Application Developers, other Database Administrator’s (DBAs), Quality Assurance, System Analysts, and Product Owners.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Strong knowledge with Oracle, Azure, Windows SQL Server, Netezza - senior skills required as they need to be redesigning the database environment as well as leading/doing database migrations e.g. from Netezza to Azure. Need to know MySQL technologies which helps migrate the oracle/Netezza and other DBs to Azure or any other cloud platform.
Familiar/Experienced with designing and implementing databases in a virtual machine env. holding an on-Prem or cloud DBs.
Also, this role needs working with various business users or teams on getting access to data on both on-prem and cloud databases.
Familiarity with inventory supply chain and fulfillment, e-commerce sales, or financials beneficial
Knowledge of performance tuning on databases, indexing, replication, and clustering, and writing stored procedures
